Check out this video from Edmunds InsideLine.com of the 2010 Volkswagen Golf TDI clean diesel at a track. 0-60 in 8.7 seconds (w/a manual trans), something that diesels or econoboxes aren’t supposed to do–especially if they can get 50 mpg. The Golf diesel does a quarter-mile in 16.4 seconds (83 mph). The one that shocked me was the fact that the car does the slalom at 69.2 mph.
