Chevy VoltAGE brings us this video report about a Volt test drive where prior Chevy EV1 owners had the opportunity to drive a Chevy Volt. As most of you should know, the EV1 was a practical and viable electric car from the 80′s . It could have made it. It had a nice base of owners (not in attitude, but in numbers…), and the technology was working better than advertised.
Then the GM accountants and the oil companies said “Oh HELL no!” So the EV1 died an ignominious death. And the rest of us were swept into SUV, gas-guzzling heaven (cue the angelic choir).
Well, GM is trying very hard to turn that chapter of corporate greed, arrogance and ignorance around. They brought some Chevy Volts to San Francisco CA, and let some former EV 1 owners have at it.
They liked it. No…if you watch the vid, it sounds like they loved it.
